Parks & Recreation
Within its corporate limits, Fountain Inn has five public parks and an indoor activities center. There are two mini-parks, one neighborhood park and two community parks within the city limits. Fountain Inn has 48.95 acres of parks, which exceeds the national recreational standard for a city of its size. The recreational parks include Georgia Street Park, Fairview Street Park, Sanctified Hill Neighborhood Park, Fountain Inn City Park and Woodside Park.
The mini-parks, Georgia Street Park and Fairview Street Park, have children’s play areas and basketball practice courts. The two community parks, Fountain Inn City Park and Woodside Park, have ball fields and picnic areas. The Fountain Inn City Park has tennis courts on a “first come, first serve” basis. Additionally, Woodside Park has a picnic shelter and a quarter-mile walking trail. The recreation department offers youth programs such as football, basketball, softball baseball and volleyball, as well as industrial league softball.
The Fountain Inn Activities Center on Fairview Street offers many programs for youth and senior citizens. The Center has a gym as well as available meeting space for local groups and organizations. Senior adult activities including exercise programs, day and overnight trips, a monthly breakfast as well as other special programs. For other Fountain Inn residents, there is a full gymnasium for walking, running or playing basketball. Also there is a fitness room with weight and exercise equipment.
Activities Center Director: Cathi Avery
Cathi Avery came to the City of Fountain Inn in January of 1992 upon the opening of the Fountain Inn Activities Center. The Senior Adult activities and programs are the very heart of her work. All aspects of Senior programming from exercise classes to Senior Adult trips are her responsibilities. Cathi also coordinates the Girls Golden Strip Volleyball League and maintains the day to day operations of the Activities Center.

An instructional baseball and volleyball league are also offered each summer.
The Activities Center is a multi-purpose facility that houses our Senior Adult programs Monday thru Friday from 8-11am. Activities include exercise classes, walking, health screenings, educational workshops, and leisure opportunities that include trips, meals, movies, and crafts. There is no fee for a Senior Adult membership for those over the age of 55.
Fitness Membership to the Activities Center are also available to the public (ages 18-54). Membership includes use of the weight room and gymnasium.
Rates: $15 per month for residents inside the city limits of Fountain Inn
$20 per month for those residing outside the city limits
