The City of Fountain Inn presents the 2022 Fall Flag & Tackle Football Season. The Parks and Recreation Department is fortunate and excited to have your child participate in our fall programs!
Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation offers Flag Football and Tackle Football for the fall season. Youth learn the fundamentals of the sport with experienced coaches & mentors. Football helps young athletes learn about leadership, discipline, and perseverance, achieving successes and learning from deficits. A league player enhances their physical fitness develops resilience and strength.
This football program is designed as a recreational league with rules that are intended to make the league more accessible to all experience levels. Teams will consist of 18-32 players.
Tackle Registration: June 6/20-7/11, deadline at 5:00p
Flag Registration: June 6/13-July 7/5, deadline at 5:00p
- 8U (Max age 8 on or before Sept 1, 2022)
- 10U (Max age 10 on or before Sept 1, 2022)
- 12U (Max age 12 on or before Sept 1, 2022)
Online Registration: You can create an account and register by clicking here. You will be redirected to the Fountain Inn Parks & Recreation Catalog Page. Waiting List Note: a limited number of registrations will be taken to maintain program formatting and quality before starting a waiting list. That number may be potentially be reached before the registration ends. It does not mean that the participant will not be able to enroll; it simply means that an inventory of roles, staff, and facility space needs to be identified before adding from the waitlist
Cost: Registration cost is $60.00 in city limits and $70.00 out of City. Payment: Credit and Debit card payments can be made through online checkout. You may make a cash payment at the Activities Center (610 Fairview Street). Please make an appointment to do so at 864-862-4675. Please note; registration is not counted unless you have a receipt from registration checkout before the registration deadline. Registrations may be taken after the deadline if a spot is available. Otherwise, a waiting list will be established.
Duration: Practices are set to begin on August 7/18, Games are tentative to start the week of 8/29, and the program end is projected to be 10/29
Location: Two recreation facilities are used for practices and games ESSC (Emanuel Sullivan Sports Complex) is located at 700 Woodside Avenue and PD Terry City Park, Located at 116 Cannon Avenue.
Schedule: The Recreation Department reserves both ESSC & PD Terry City Park to be used Monday-Thursday and potentially Friday evenings from 5:30-8:30 and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Athletes registered are projected to have two sessions per week out of the five days. Most practices and games are 1-1.5 hours. Schedules are finalized after registration ends. Schedules are pending volunteers availability and registration numbers
Evaluation & Team Selections: Tackle Evaluations for 8U, 10U & 12U are 7/16, 9:00 AM at Emanuel Sullivan Sports Complex (ESSC) 7/14 at 6:00p . Flag Evaluations are TBD (projected to be either 7/6, 7/7, or 7/8, 6:00 PM) Evaluations are a time for athletes to show skill level. As a Community Recreation League, it is understood that participants have various levels of play and knowledge of each seasonal sport. The Recreation Department's priority is to make sure that each team is selected in a manner that is reflective of a healthy balance of seasoned players and some that may have never played before.
Special Request Policy: The Recreation Department understands that there may be special requests for players to be on the same team or even a coach request. You have an opportunity to make this request during the registration checkout. Please note that while you make the request it is not a guarantee.
Volunteer Coaches, Parents & Assistants: Deep gratitude and thanks to our many volunteers who anchor this Recreation Department with success!!! You are much needed! It is important to the Recreation Department to get to know those leading and facilitating within our youth leagues.
